Learn About Our Services
Toddlers and young children may experience challenges with feeding or swallowing as they grow. At RISE Pediatric Therapies we complete thorough assessments to better understand your child’s needs. Rest assured, if we find delays or disorders, we can effectively address any challenges with our feeding therapy services, which we provide at our Nampa location.
Pediatric myofunctional therapy can help children who have difficulty using the muscles of their face, mouth, or throat effectively. These challenges can lead to habits like mouth breathing, tongue thrusting, or trouble with eating and speaking. At our Nampa location, our experienced developmental therapists work with children to build strength and coordination in these muscles, helping to support healthier habits and overall development.
If your child consistently struggles with word sounds or language skills, we recommend scheduling a speech and language evaluation at our Boise location. We offer free speech and language screenings for children ages 1-7. During the evaluation, we’ll determine if there are any delays or disorders and begin to develop a treatment plan. Our goal is to help your child progress in the skills typical for their age as outlined in our speech and language milestone chart.
Occupational therapy can help your child with many of the skills they need to use daily, such as dressing, eating, playing, and participating in school activities. When children struggle in these areas, it hurts their self-confidence and sometimes their relationships. Our occupational therapist can design a therapy program to increase your child’s independence and self-esteem.
How To Get Started—Initial Evaluation
Even if you’re not sure if your child needs services, it’s always best to request an evaluation. We use a simple four-step process to help you get started.
1
Call Our Office
Before calling our office, please have a copy of your insurance card available to share with a member of our staff. When you call, we will ask a few questions about your child to determine if we have the services your child needs.
2
Get a Referral
Call your primary care physician’s office and request that they send a referral to RISE Pediatric Therapies. Our fax number is (208) 467-1462.
3
Complete Intake Paperwork
Once we receive the referral, we’ll send you a link to our electronic medical record system to complete your intake paperwork. After that’s done, we’ll schedule your evaluation. The intake packet must be completed by 6:00 p.m. the day before your appointment. If it isn’t, we’ll need to reschedule.
If you have any questions or trouble completing the packet, please call our office as soon as possible.
4
Come to Your First Appointment
Please arrive 10–15 minutes before your scheduled appointment to ensure all paperwork is completed and all documents are signed and dated.
Once the initial evaluation is completed, we’ll develop a coordinated care plan for therapy.
