As parents, we sometimes wonder if our children are meeting the typical developmental milestones appropriate for their age. At RISE Pediatric Therapies (RPT), we offer a variety of *assessments to establish a baseline for your child and their developmental progress before beginning pediatric occupational therapy services. *Please note, we also provide free speech and language screenings for children ages 1-7.
What is Occupational Therapy?
Pediatric occupational therapy focuses on helping your child develop the skills they need to perform daily activities for their age (i.e., handwriting, dressing, and using scissors). A pediatric occupational therapist can also support your child in developing their fine motor skills, gross motor skills, sensory processing and integration, visual-perceptual skills, hand-eye coordination, and emotional regulation.
Start with An Assessment
Once you have a referral from your primary care physician and have completed your intake paperwork, we’ll schedule a pediatric occupational therapy assessment to evaluate your child’s skills.
We’ll then develop a habilitative care plan to help your child develop the skills they need to perform their daily activities. We also offer parent/caregiver services, teaching you how to replicate the techniques we do in the office in your home.
